Emerging Solutions is the beta partner of Oracle for this promising solution by Oracle. OECB is the tool that completes the end-to-end Business Intelligence story for Oracle BI Products. With the advent of OECB, an OBIEE Repository containing all your source metadata can be loaded to an Essbase cube for multi-dimensional analysis. A seamless integration between OBIEE Dashboard pages and Essbase Smartview provides a simple and fluent user experience for moving between relational and OLAP data sets - erasing the lines between your ROLAP and OLAP environments.

BI Roadmap for Brio Customers

Should you migrate to OBIEE or upgrade to new System 11?

Oracle has terminated the product support for old Brio technologies. Customers with Brio 8 or older versions have to make a decision on whether they want to stay with Brio and upgrade to the latest version or migrate to OBIEE, Oracle’s new flagship reporting tool.  Answer to this question depends on your business needs.
Although OBIEE is the center point for Oracle’s future reporting architecture, depending on how your users consume the data and how involved IT is in building reports, it might not be a bad idea to stay with Brio for time being. However, if you see your business needs changing to more empowered reporting then, maybe it is time for you to consider OBIEE.
